On Sunday November 18, 2012, the Supervisory Council of the UMJCA held an election for the new Youth Committee, MYC 2012.  In addition, in order to create a stronger MYC, a referendum was held to amend the UMJCA By Laws and increase the minimum age of the MYC members to 18 and shorten the term of the MYC office to 2 years.

 

A total of 651 community members age 18 and older voted on the referendum.  620 voted in favor and 31 against.   The amendment passed by a 96% majority.

 

A total of 379 community members age 16 to 35 voted for the MYC election, including 9 absentee ballots.  4 ballots were disqualified for having too many or too few votes and 375 ballots were valid.
